This morning I got an e-mail from Half.com that someone was purchasing one of the books I had up on that site. I had completely forgotten about half.com and actually thought I'd taken my entire inventory off of it. Guess not! I still had a few items up there and this book was one of them. Of course I was clueless as to where I'd put this textbook. So tonight I went wild going all over the office trying to find it. I was almost ready to give up when I spotted it on my desk. Go figure that it was right where it should be for easy access. haha. So I packed that up and it's ready to ship off tomorrow morning.
While I was searching for that book, I decided to put a few more books on Half.com. I looked up a few books and if they were going for less than a couple dollars, I decided to put them on PaperBackSwap instead. However, a couple of the textbooks that I had from my communications courses were going for a little more than that and so I added them to Half.com. An hour went by and guess what? Someone's already bought one! So now I have that packed up and ready to go tomorrow too. Between the two books that I'm sending out, I'll be making around $45 after Half takes their portion. Not too shabby for one night's work. hehe. I'll go searching through my office any time for a few bucks.
I did put up the other items on my PaperBackSwap and two of the books that I posted are on wish lists and so I should have those requested within the next 48 hours or so. That means 2 more credits for me! Yippee. Right now I have 6 credits. I did have it up to 7 the other day, but another of my wish listed books popped up and so I had to order it. Tee hee. I'm going to keep bouncing between Half & PBS I think. It's a good idea to sell some to make money and put some up to make credits. I want some of these books out of my household. I'm tempted to put up a "sale" on my PBS books and offer two books for one credit. I see other people doing that all the time so I might do it too. We'll see.
Speaking of books... My Amazon.com order was here today too! Yay!
I got Blood Rites by Jim Butcher, Mortal Touch by Inanna Arthen and Witch Fire by Anya Bast. I'm looking forward to reading them all, but I still need to finish Quantico by Greg Bear... though I may just be able to finish that tomorrow. So we'll see which of my billion books I grab next. Ah, such choices.

I had something that I specifically wanted to write an LJ entry about and I got distracted for a mere moment before I could start typing away and suddenly... *poof* thought-be-gone. Oh well, it couldn't have been too important, right?
Last night I hit Wal-Mart on the way home from work. I had to pick up dog treats and a few other odds & ends. I wasn't in there long, maybe 15 minutes when suddenly I felt this awful pain in the middle finger of my right hand. I looked at it and from the top knuckle up it was swollen and all red/purple in color. The top of my finger was numb but tight if that makes sense. It almost looked like it was bruised, but at the same time didn't look bruised. I hadn't hit anything. I had merely been pushing the cart when the pain struck. I hurried to pay and get out of there and hoped that it was just a temporary thing. It didn't get worse, but didn't get better either. Almost all last night I could not bend that finger at the top knuckle. Today it's still stiff and numb-ish. The bones at the joint kind of hurt too. That finger definitely has lost flexibility compared to the other fingers. It does't hurt at this point, just feels tight and weird. It's hard to explain. I haven't a clue as to what's wrong with it. At least the coloring is somewhat normal once again. Weird weird weird.
I had to hit the Post Office this morning to mail out THREE books that were requested from me on PaperBackSwap! I added two of those books last night and they were immediately snatched up! The third book I had added the night before and it was grabbed yesterday morning! Of course all the "Star Trek" books I added the night before haven't been touched. Sheesh. Wish someone would request some of those so that I could get them out of the house. Although as I was listing them, I was tempted to re-read them. It's been years and I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE the "Star Trek" novels. I always had such a crush on Spock and it didn't matter if it was TV, movie or book version. I loved that Vulcan. haha.
Ho hum. I scheduled a physical with my doctor for next week. I haven't had a real check up type deal in years and with the way my body always feels like it's falling apart, I figured that it's time to just see what the doc says. Plus with the job ending in October, bye-bye insurance. haha. So time to get in what I can. I have a dentist appointment scheduled for the first week in September. I'll have to get to the eye doctor next month too. Oh what fun. Not.
Well, back to reading I go. Ta ta tater tots. Oh speaking of tater tots... I see that they have the Stuffed Baked Potato on today's lunch menu! I am soooooooooooooooo overly happy to hear that! I loooooooooove the stuffed baked potato. I usually have cheese, broccoli and bacon bits on mine. Oh and of course sour cream. Sometimes I'll vary and go with chili and cheese in mine, but that's not often and usually only in colder weather.

Today was not what I expected, but it was rather nice even so. For some reason, I had been told that today was going to be spent at my uncle's house on the lake. Nope. I guess he and his wife had gone out of town for the weekend so I have no clue where the information had come from. So today instead of going to my uncle's, I was able to see my dad and step-mom and grandma (dad's mom) and step-aunt.
I woke up around 8:00 today and as I was grabbing my things to go into the shower, my cell phone rang. I recognized the number as belonging to my step-mom, but I wanted to get showered and dressed before chit-chatting so I let the call go to voicemail.
Grandma made me eat breakfast this morning. Pushy old broad. hahaha. I say that lovingly! Then after breakfast I called Kim back and she said that she would finish closing up the barn and then would call me before she left to pick up her sister. (She wanted Donette around to navigate as she drove). I sat and watched TV with grandma while I waited and waited and waited. I began to think that maybe Kim forgot to call to let me know she was leaving. That's exactly what happened and around 11:30-ish my cell phone rang and she told me that she was down at the front door. I ran to let her in and she came inside to talk to my grandma for a few minutes and then we headed out.
We dropped Donette off at her home and then hit Barnes & Noble. We had some coffee and then wandered the store for a good 2 1/2 hours! She's a book-freak like I am, yet she managed to walk out without buying a thing. I, on the other hand, bought $40 worth of books. haha.
These are what I bought:
1. A Dog About Town by J.F. Englert
2. Fool Moon by Jim Butcher
3. A Mortal Glamour by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
4. The Reluctant Landlady by Bernadette Strachan
5. Out of the Shadows by Linda Lael Miller
(The last two were bargain books and therefore very cheap!)
Add these books to the one grandma bought me yesterday (The Camel Club by David Baldacci) and I'm set for reading for the week. HAHAHA.
Anyway, back to my day... after B&N we went back to my dad's house and waited for him to get home from work. He had to work until 5:30. While we waited, Kim showed me around the house and the new and old animals. Her new horse is gorgeous! Then we watched "Shrek" because she said that I HAD to see it! I had not seen it before and it was really cute!
Dad got home around 6-ish and we sat around for a little bit just talking and catching up. The three of us then went to a Chinese Buffet restaurant. OH MY GOSH was that food GOOD! SO much of it! Mmmm.
After dinner we took Kim back home and dad tried to call his mom (my grandma) but the line was busy-busy-busy so we decided to drive over to see her. As he drove he tried to call a bunch more times and kept getting the busy signal. When we arrived at her apartment (in a senior housing place) we tried to ring her to buzz us in but for another 10 minutes it was busy. Dad finally buzzed the maintenance guy and he came down to let us in and he brought us up to grandma's apartment. She had no clue that her phone was off the hook! Whoops!
It was wonderful to see her! It's been ages and I'm so glad we had a chance to stop by. The view from her 5th story deck is gorgeous! She looks out over a pond that is beautiful!
Dad and I got back to this grandma's place around 10:00 and he sat and talked for a good half hour before heading out. I then called Ron and he talked for ages! Now I'm checking in to see what's up.
Tomorrow is a light day... Grandma wants to hit the post office in the morning and then get her hair cut. Tomorrow night we're heading up to my uncle's house on the lake for a barbecue. Should be fun!
Wednesday I shall be meeting Randi in the evening. Thursday we're hitting the Mall of America during the day and then at night we're going to play Bingo (me, grandma, my great-aunt Jeanne and my aunt Pam and anyone else who cares to join!) Friday I shall see my dad again. He's going to pick me up bright and early and we'll head up to my uncle's house (his brother Tony). So I'll get to see him for the first time in years!
Saturday my uncle Steve (mom's bro) wants us to come to his house for the day and for another barbecue. Then Sunday my dad is going to pick me up really early and it'll be back to the airport for me. Wahhh. I don't want to leave. I love it here and want to stay!

Well, I just virtually wandered the aisles of Amazon.com and used my entire gift card that Corey had sent me. My total purchase came to $50.73! How close was I to the $50 amount? Not too shabby, eh? So what did I order? Well, I ended up PRE-ordering 3 books because they're coming out in June and I figured I might as well order them now and this way I'll have a month to catch up on some of the books that I have sitting around.
Here's my list that I ordered:
Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich *pre-order*
The Harlequin by Laurell K Hamilton *pre-order*
Undead and Uneasy by MaryJanice Davidson *pre-order*
Love at First Bite by various authors. (collection of short stories).
So that's a good amount of reading to do. I almost pre-ordered Harry Potter, but I think I'd rather order that from Borders so that I can go the night of its release and pick it up. I'm not sure yet. I do have a B&N and a Borders gift card to use, so one of those can purchase me HP.
Anyway, Thank you
coreyann for the above mentioned books! I can't wait to get them and I had a blast spending the gift certificate!

I'm in purgatory today. Oh what fun. It's making it awfully
hard to get my paper done. I'm in with Irene and we've been having a
ranting session all morning, going into all the issues about this place
that drive us nuts. So yeah, I haven't gotten much more done on my
paper. Maybe another paragraph. Ha. I'm never going to get 10 pages
at this rate! I was hoping to get at least 6 or 7 pages done today so
that I'd only have a few pages more to do on Monday. I really don't
want to think about this paper over the weekend, but I might end up
having to work on it. Grr. Maybe I can jumpstart my brain and get some
writing done soon. Here's hoping!
Oh darn. I didn't get picked to review any books for First Look Books this month.
They haven't been picking me at all lately! How rude! Although I'm
happy in a way because I've had so much going on that I really haven't
done much pleasure reading. They're offering Kim Harrison's upcoming
book for this next month! I hope hope hope hope that I get chosen for
that one! I don't care if I don't get picked for the others, but I'd
love to have the advanced copy of For a Few Demons More.
Ok ok... I should get back to trying to write, eh?
I have another rant to do, but I don't want to discuss it here so it'll
wait until I get home tonight... If I remember. LOL

For a crappy day, it didn't turn out half bad. I didn't accomplish anywhere near what I wanted to on my paper, but such is life. There's always tomorrow... and Monday... and Tuesday during the day. But I don't want to rely on Tuesday because if I don't finish it, I'm screwed. Tuesday will be my edit the final paper day.
I played around on Gather most of the afternoon and did a little reading for my Field Bio class and a little pleasure reading as well. Yeah yeah yeah... I know I should have been writing, but pffft on writing for the day. I got a page done, so that's a good start.
I got home tonight and received some good news! Ron ended up meeting the district manager at Wendy's this afternoon. I guess they called him around 12:30 and asked if he could be there around 1:00. Hardly! It takes 45 minutes to get there on a good day. Nice of them to give him notice! They said that they had planned on calling yesterday but forgot. Duh. Anyway, to make a long story short... he'll be starting on the 12th of December. Woo hoo. It's not next week, but at least it's now a definite! He has to go buy some black pants now. Grr. More money being pulled from nowhere magically. For Taco Bell and such, he'd had khaki and blue pants, but Wendy's requires only black. OH well. At least in under two weeks he'll be working again! Thank heavens!
In other exciting stuff... I also discovered a package when I got home tonight. The lovely Corey sent me a box of books and coffee! It's like heaven in a box! Books. And. Coffee. Does it get any better than that? Oh wait, yes it does because there was also the cutest thing in the package. It is a little stuffed beanie pickle! If that can't make a gal smile, nothing can! Thank you Corey! Ron was thrilled with the coffee (me too!) and not so thrilled with the "Damn! More freakin' books!" hehehe. I always love books and J.D. Robb is awesome. Can't wait to read them!
I'm hungry. I wonder what Ron's making for dinner tonight... probably more leftover turkey or ham. Lol I don't care as long as it is food.

I had stuff that I wanted to write about earlier today, but then things happened at work and I never got back around to posting another entry. I'm not going to talk about that stuff now either, but rather will save that for tomorrow. Instead I have a few other things to write about.
This afternoon our supervisor sent out an e-mail telling us that we're going to have a conference call on Monday with the corporate office. This call is going to tell us the status of the transition. This means, we guess, that we're going to finally get to know when our time is up. Hopefully they'll finally be giving us a date. I'm at the point where I don't care if it's two weeks or two years, just let us know already! So yeah. This afternoon was filled with lots of whispered conversations as we all took guesses at when our day will come. I can't believe we have to wait until Monday for this, but I guess it is better than learning on a Friday and having it mess up the weekend. Right? It sounds like most of us think that it's going to be 60 days or less. A few people think our final day will be right around February 1st. A couple others think possibly March 1st or April 1st. Very few now believe that we'll go until May 31st like we'd all originally hoped. I'm just ready to get a picture of what is going to happen and when. Took them long enough to keep us hanging.
Joyce had some major issues with our supervisor today and rightfully so. I shall not go into that here because it's too much of a mess to cover, but suffice it to say, the reason she was upset is going to affect quite a few people in our department and their ability to get a job elsewhere within the company.
Other than all the above, work was pretty boring today. I managed to finish all my reading for Tuesday's class, but didn't bother to start on my paper yet. Bad me. Oh well, there's always tomorrow, Monday & Tuesday to do that.
On the way home from work, I did stop at Borders. I couldn't help myself. Just as alcoholics drink, I am uncontrollably drawn to bookstores. It's so awesome to have a bookstore in a convenient location now. Yippee! Although I was bad. I spent all my lunch money for next week. I guess I'll be PB&J'ing it next week for lunch. Oh well. What did I buy? I'm glad you asked. haha. I bought Hellsing: Volume 5 (manga), Dance of the Gods by Nora Roberts, and My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding, which is a collection of short stories by authors Sherrilyn Kenyon, Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, L.A. Banks, Rachel Caine, P.N. Elrod, Esther M. Friesner, Lori Handeland, and Susan Krinard. I haven't heard of some of the authors. Others I have read and greatly enjoyed. A couple of them sound familiar, but I can't recall if I've actually read their work or just recognize the name from something else. Who knows. It sounds like an interesting collection of stories though and I can't wait to read it.
I do have to say that I was surprised that they didn't have anything exciting going on at Borders. The Sports Authority and Linens & Things both had huge signs up saying "Grand Opening" but Borders had nothing. Even inside had no mention of it being new or anything. Ah well. I put my coupon to good use. That's what coun

I'm talking about money... or certificates rather. Once the thunderstorms settled down tonight I went straight to Amazon.com and a few minutes ago I clicked and completed my order. So, thanks to Stef and Corey I am getting the following books:
~ Communion Blood: A Novel of Saint-Germain - Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
~ Deadly Pleasure (A Francesca Cahill Romance) - Brenda Joyce
~ Spell of the Highlander - Karen Marie Moning
~ Dead Until Dark (Southern Vampire Mysteries) - Charlaine Harris
~ The Vampire Files (The Vampire Files) - P. N. Elrod
~ Hellsing Volume 4 (Hellsing (Graphic Novels)) - Kohta Hirano
So yeah... the months of July and August when I have no classes, I'll be keeping pretty darn busy with BOOKS! I was tempted to pick up a DVD or CD or something but ended up sticking with something I know I'll enjoy.... lots o' books!
I didn't spend my iTunes cards yet because I am still waiting for more of my group members to reply so that I can do tonight's summary. They're going to drive me up a wall! Tomorrow there are no assignments so I shall hit iTunes tomorrow night and spend away!
Thanks again to Corey and Stef!!!! :-)

Massive thunderstorm in process... must not remain on computer for long. Damn that thunder is loud!
I just had to come on and jump for joy because my B&N order arrived today!! Yippeeeee! Thanks again Lisa and Petra!!
I wanted to hit iTunes and Amazon tonight but that won't be happening unless this weather changes drastically and soon.
BOOM! Ok, bye.

I spent my B&N gift card from Lisa and Petra a couple minutes ago. Well, I spent more than the gift card but I couldn't help myself. I'm dangerous when I'm on the BN website. I should never be allowed to visit that site without adult supervision. haha. Thanks again Lisa & Petra... I'll have some good reading ahead of me!
Here's the books that I am getting...
* Glory in Death by J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts)
* Undead and Unappreciated by MaryJanice Davidson
* The Vampire Sextette, anthology with various authors
* Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs
* Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (because I never read it as a kid and figured it was time to bring out the little girl in me. haha)
In other book news I also received the third book that I need to review for June. Yippee. Today at work I started reading the first one of the three that I have to review... Suspension by Robert Westfield. It's pretty good so far but I'm only around page 90.
Now Ron and I are watching "National Treasure". We saw it in the theater but felt like popping in a movie tonight and he doesn't want to watch either of the two movies I have from Netflix so we picked a movie we own.
Ron painted the top part of the bathroom today. The blue is so pretty! I can't wait to see how it looks when he paints the bottom in the other color. The contractor didn't come out today because of the weather. It was pouring up this way and even hailing at one point. So the porch will be started on Tuesday. I can wait.

I am ever so bored, thanks for asking. This really has been the most
boring day in recent memory. I wonder if something is wrong with the
phones? Hmm. It is very strange.
I did a little shopping on Amazon.com. I couldn't help myself. Yeah, I
need more books like I need a hole in the head but in my defense, I
bought them from the amazon shop thingies so they were cheap. Turned
out to be like $15 for four books. So tell me that's not a bargain?
Ooh I think the mail is coming. Finally... Something to do.

I love book fairs. I can't even remember how much I just spent. Haha.
I just signed the receipt without even looking. Haha. Actually there's
a couple things I want to go back for but break was almost up so I
grabbed the three things that I really really wanted and left it at
that. I spent over $25 at least so I got the free tote bag. I was
wondering what the tote bag would be like because usually 'free gifts'
are crappy. This bag is SO nice. I want to go spend another
twenty-five bucks to get another one.
So what did I buy? I bought Wicked by Gregory Maguire. I've
always wanted to read it but never got around to buying it. Since it
was cheap here, I couldn't turn it down. I also got a stainless thermos
and two travel mugs set. I had gotten a thermos from one of the book
fairs ages ago but Ron took it and I never saw it again. So now there's
a travel mug for each of us and I'm keeping the thermos. Hehe. The
last thing I bought was a huge book of crafts for my niece's birthday.
It has tons and tons of projects to make with household items like boxes
and newspapers and paper towel tubes, etc. I figured it'll give her
some ideas of things to make and do. She likes arts and crafts stuff.
Her birthday is April 8th and we're heading down there for her party and
that same night she's in her school play, "Annie". So that'll be fun.
I'll get something else to go with this book but I don't know what.
Haha.
This day is moving pretty quickly. Lots o' fun being had by all.
This weekend is supposed to be 60 degrees or more. I'm very upset by
that. I'm starting to lose hope that I'll get another major snow storm
before the winter officially ends. Boo hooooooooooo. I'm not ready for
warm weather yet. Please make it go away quickly. Spring shouldn't be
here just yet. Give it another month.

I'm sad... I forgot my iPod today. So no music for me. Wahh.
But...
I'm happy... BOOK FAIR on Thursday! Woo hooo. I can never be sad for
long when there's a book fair in my future. It's in our cafeteria from
9 - 2:30 and I think it's a different company than the one we usually
have do the book fairs. Maybe there'll lots of different books. We
also get a free tote bag with a $25 purchase. I think I could spend
twenty-five bucks in no time flat.
I had an awful night's sleep last night so I'm exhausted this morning.
I actually went to bed early-ish and fell asleep right away... But from
3:30 a.m. until I got out of bed, I kept waking up every 10-15 minutes
or so. I could not stay asleep to save my life. I'd doze off and then
I would wake right back up again a few minutes later. It was not fun.
Last night I stopped off at Shop-Rite on the way home from work to pick
up milk, bread, ice cream... You know, the necessities. Hehe. I bought
the fixings for my favoritest dinner. Well technically I guess it isn't
a real dinner but I like it as a dinner. It's Doritos with cheddar and
mozzarella cheese melted on top. Mmm. One minute in the microwave and
instant nachos. Better than real nachos if you ask me. It was so good.
There's a bunch of corporate-type peoples walking around this office
building today. I don't know why or even who they are.
Oh how sad... I just got an update from CNN... Dana Reeve has passed
away. Yesterday it was Kirby Puckett and today Dana Reeve. :(

Oooh! Yippee! I just got notice that I was chosen again to review one
of the books from www.firstlookbooks.com . This one will be interesting
to review because it is The Big Book of Outdoor Cooking and
Entertaining by Cheryl Alters Jamison and Bill Jamison. I can't
wait to read their ideas! I'll make Ron start up the grill in 20 degree
weather just to test out the suggestions. Hehe.
I can't believe that I've only been a member of the site for three
months and each month I've gotten chosen to review a book. It's
supposedly random but how am I able to get so randomly lucky so many
times in a row? I think I need to take a chance on the lottery if that
is the case. Hehe.
Today is still boring. I finished reading one chapter for Sociology and
I'm almost done reading the second. I have two chapters to read for
Geology too. Plus I have some writing to do as well. Fun stuff.
I just had some ice cream cake for Joan's birthday. It was delicious.
And the potato soup at lunch today was excellent! And I managed to get
my lunch without falling. Go me. Haha.
I'm very very bored. I can't believe how few phone calls have come
through. No one at all has come in today so it's a real pointless
effort to stay here in purgatory.

And so it begins... Another work week is upon us. Or rather it is upon
some of us because wimpy people have today as a holiday and thus are not
at work. The true blue, hard working people are at work today. If
given a choice, however, I am pretty darn sure that I would have taken
today off too. But alas, this is one of those annoying holidays that we
don't get anything for because the company does not recognize it as a
holiday. So it is just another work day to me. I actually forgot all
about it being a holiday until I was driving to work this morning and
the roads were eerily quiet. I made it to work in record time and so I
was here ultra-early. Ah well. It was nice not having to dodge
traffic. Hehe
It is going to be a long day... I can feel it already. A couple of my
coworkers are being overly loud and obnoxious! Can't they just zip it
until a reasonable hour? Like perhaps after 5:00? Man, why are they
all in chit-chatty moods? I think everyone is in a "let's annoy Vikki"
mood! Ugh!
Yesterday I finally managed to finish reading Friday Night
Lights. And I've never been so glad to finish a book as I was to
finish that one. In my life there have only been 2 books that I quit
reading and could not get myself to finish. This would have been number
three if it hadn't been required for class. I can usually bring myself
to finish reading a book no matter how bad it is, but I just did not
like this book at all and could have easily given it up as a lost cause.
It was a struggle to finish it yesterday. I was reading it while
watching the top 100 country videos on CMT. Needless to say I was
distracted here and there watching the videos. Although some of the
videos just make no sense as to how they made the top of the list. Some
were awesome and I could totally see why they made the top 100, but the
others were just video of the singer/group performing on stage with
nothing more. How can that be among the best videos? To me the videos
that make that list should bring something above and beyond what other
videos have. How the heck can Billy Ray Cyrus's "Achy Breaky Heart"
make the top 20 videos when all he does in the video is stand up on
stage with his mullet doing silly dance steps and swiveling his hips?
Is that really better than some of those more meaningful videos? Don't
get me wrong, I was an Achy Breaky fan but the video is nothing to
praise.
But I digress. Anyway... I finished FNL and after that I finished
reading the book that I have to review for the First Look Books site.
That one, while much better than FNL, was missing something. The plot
could have been awesome but it lacked details and depth. I feel bad
that I'm going to have to write a negative review. Ah well.
While reading that book last night, I watched "The League of
Extraordinary Gentlemen" on TV. I have it on DVD and have seen it a
zillion times but because it was on TV, I had to watch it again... With
commercials. LOL After that was over I decided to watch "Grey's
Anatomy". I'd heard raves about it but had never ever watched it
before... And now I know why. I have no clue what all the hype is
about. The show sucks. Well, maybe 'sucks' is too strong of a word but
I didn't like it at all and have no plans to watch it ever again.
Well, I should get back to doing something work-related. I should...
But will I?

My horoscope for today:
Gemini
Are you an intellectual or a poet, a novelist or a playwright? The
celestial energy is leaving you alone with your anxieties and questions.
You are sure of only one thing: words are friends you have decided to
spend the rest of your life with. This is a kind of dream and a
challenge that corresponds well to your Gemini identity. Get to work.
You will find your vocation, as well as your passion, in your writing.
Well I'm not any of those things yet, but lately I've been actually
believing that one day I will be a real writer. One day.
Last night I tried to get some geology reading done... And I did manage
to get a few pages read. Then I started reading Friday Night
Lights for my sociology class. I have a paper due on that in a
couple weeks so I didn't want to be cramming to read it all at the last
minute. I just posted my review of the other book we had to read for
class. Yeah in addition to the paper we had to write about the book, we
also had to write a review. I think my review was a bit more literary
than it was needed to be. Two people had posted their reviews before
mine and the one gal wrote two sentences. The guy posted a little more
than that but basically said nothing. I posted a page-long review which
was mixed with positives as well as things that irked me about the way
the book was written. LOL Oh I'm too much sometimes.
Speaking of reviews... I received my next book to review for
FirstLookBooks last night. It looks like it's going to be an awesome
story! I love getting free books although how the heck I'm going to fit
that into my reading schedule with all my school stuff on top of it, I
don't know. I have so many books now that I want to read! I have the
couple I bought from B&N, the two that Corey bought me, a couple that I
got on ebay, and many more! Plus I'm still trying to read The
Historian. It's getting better but I am not hooked on it enough to
be unable to pull myself away.
Speaking of books... Remember how I mentioned that the gal who bought my
one textbook on half.com wanted to return it and get a refund? Well I
replied the next day that I would refund her minus the shipping costs
once the book was received but I advised her for future reference to
double check the editions because a seller is not required to refund the
money. A couple days later she replied and said that she hadn't sent it
yet because she was waiting to hear back from me. She said that she'd
send it out the next day by certified mail. So I waited and then last
night I got an email from her saying that she was going to keep it
because she just realized that Western Civ is a two semester course and
the book that I sold her will be what she needs for next semester. What
a pain in the tushy! But I'm happy that it all worked out and I get to
keep the money! YAY!

Well I'm not in "purgatory". Rose showed up at the last minute. I'm
annoyed with myself. This morning I took what I thought was my

for that class and figured it would make the bag lighter if I left that
book at home. However, just now I went to pull out my Geology book and
which book is in the bag? My Sociology one. So I must have taken my
Geology book out and left that one at home. Grr. I guess I can work on
my Sociology assignment instead but I wanted to catch up on the Geology
reading. We have to read the first 4 chapters by Sunday and I've only
read the first one so far. Grr. Think anyone would notice if I left to
run home and get my book? Haha.

Guess what? I sold another book on half.com! So once again I found
myself at the post office this morning to ship the book off to its new
home. That makes every morning this week so far that I've had to hit
the post office! I don't mind though because it means more money for
me. But I find it odd that I've had books up for ages and no one has
bought any of those and yet the 5 that I put up on Sunday have all gone
but one. And the books I had up previously are ones that I thought
would sell quickly. Guess not. Ah well... I'm just happy to have some
money coming my way.
I might end up being in "purgatory" today. I'm scheduled for tomorrow
with Denise but Rose is supposed to be in with Rick today and she hasn't
been in the past two days so we think she may not be here today and Rick
told me that he'd prefer me over Denise to join him in the room. I
don't mind getting it out of the way. I have my iPod and my school
books, so the day won't be so bad. Maybe Rose will be in... Although
she should have been here by now. I'll give it a few more minutes
before heading down to the customer service room.

Hmm... Let's see if this works.
This morning is pretty dull but annoying. A guy from another department
has been standing over at Wendy's desk talking to her for about an hour
now and so I've been trying to behave and not do anything obviously not
work. Although why should I care because he's clearly not working and
Wendy isn't if the two of them are chit-chatting and flirting away.
Grr.
I hit the post office this morning to ship off my book that I sold on
half.com. I'm so excited that three books have sold in the past 2 days.
Two of which were text books so I'm getting more than just a few dollars
for them. Yippee. Although now that they went so quickly, I'm
wondering if perhaps I should have put them up for a higher price. Ah
well. Too late now.
I wore my glasses today because my eyeballs were so tired and sore this
morning. It takes a long time to get used to wearing them. Everything
looks smaller with my glasses. It's kind of funny.
