Where'd today go?

This morning Ron and I slept in quite a bit. Well, I woke up off and on, but it was just so cozy in bed and so I didn't feel like moving until he did. Eventually I did get up and before him too! Shocking! Last night he was up playing with his telescope until who knows what time. I went up to bed around 5 a.m. so he was up after that for awhile.

Once we were up, we headed outside to do more yardwork. We have a nice team thing going for us. I rake up all the leaves and he grabs handfuls to put into the leaf mulcher. It's been a lot of work and we still have tons more! I'm just so happy to see my pretty flowers that I planted yesterday. So far they look good.

Ron had to close tonight and so we didn't get as much yard stuff done as we could have, but he's off again on Sunday. Hopefully it won't be a yucky day so we can hit the yard full force and try to make it look somewhat nice. I don't think our yard is capable of ever looking great, but if we can make it look better, that's all that matters.

I haven't done much since Ron left for work this afternoon. I played with the dogs outside for quite some time. Between all the yard stuff and playing with the dogs, I've gotten quite pink. At least it's just a mild sunburn and not as bad as I usually get. I think it's because I'm outside more often now at odd hours so I'm not getting bright red. But I'm definitely pink. My cheeks, my arms, my feet, the back of my neck. That last one is the worst, particularly because I'm having a bad back/neck week. I'm not sure if it's from all the raking over the past week or if it's from the gardening or from the dogs or from not being used to a real bed... but whatever the reason, I'm in some major pain today. My neck kills and with it my upper back is oh so sore too. Ugh. Ibuprofen is not helping any. It's way too warm here to try applying heat, but I'm going to have to deal with it and just do it. Ah well.

I've done quite a bit of reading today too. That's always a fun way to spend the day! hehe.

Ok, so I see the NKOTB day pals are officially outted. So I can now show and tell as to what I got... I'll put it behind a cut in case people don't care to see. )

It's Friday.

Remember my friend Lisa that I've talked about? The one with the brain tumor and all that horrible health stuff the poor gal has had to go through? Well, they're having a fundraiser for her tonight and in connection to that there was an article in yesterday's Daily Record. The article can be found HERE! Unfortunately I just don't have the funds at this time to be able to afford a ticket or two. And there's so much going on around here, that I just can't get there tonight. The timing bites. I have a form that can be completed to send a donation so I'm going to do that as well as send Lisa a card to apologize for not making it tonight. Her birthday is next month, so I also want to try and save up to send her something special. (If anyone else wants to send a donation, let me know and I can mail or fax a copy of the donation form as well. Please don't feel any pressure to do so, I just thought I'd throw that out there in case someone has money they're itching to donate.)

I think my mom and Gary may be going to the event tonight. I hope they do. If I lived in the area and had no dogs to deal with and didn't have an awful pain in my back and didn't have to go get my contacts tonight and if I had the money, I'd definitely go too. Yes, they sound like excuses, but it's so hard to get home and then take the dogs out and change and then get back here by 7. Ah well.

My mom just emailed me and said that with the 300+ people that are already going, she and my step-dad are going to bow out and send a check instead. I have a feeling that Lisa is going to be very overwhelmed with it all as it is. I'm just so happy that they've had such a great response!

I don't think the insurance gal looked at my car yesterday. I'm so annoyed. This is going on long enough and I need something done about it right away! If I don't hear back by lunch, I'm going to give the adjuster a call and find out what's up.

My back is really hurting today. I don't know if it's still from the accident or just from sleeping on it wrong, but either way, OUCH!

It's officially Gobble Gobble day!

Ron and I just got home from the movies. We went to see "Beowulf." I'm not sure if I liked it or not. Overall, I think I did, but the graphics actually kind of took away from the movie itself in parts instead of adding to it. I didn't not like it. It's just weird I guess. I think I liked it, but it's one of those movies I need to let sit in my mind before I can figure out just how much I liked it. I still prefer Gerard Butler's "Beowulf and Grendel" though. (For obvious reasons!)

It was nice to get out and do something with my hubby for the first time in awhile. Now we're home and I'm heading up to bed shortly. Tomorrow we'll be heading to my mom's for Thanksgiving. After that we may meet up with Jeff and family. I guess they want to go shopping. I have no clue what places are actually open on Turkey Day, but eh... I'm game.

I got my pies this afternoon. All four of them. 1 - Caramel Apple Pie, 1 - Peanut Butter Chocolate Silk Pie, 1 - Fruits of the Forest Pie, and 1 - Pumpkin Cream. They all look so good that I don't want to share any of them. Tee hee.

The commute home tonight was a mess. Stupid people on the roads would not get out of my way! Sheesh. Work itself was pretty busy much of the day. It went by fast until late afternoon and then it dragged. Although I did have my boss cracking up at one point all over something that, while I found it amusing, I didn't think it was as funny as everyone else did. Although I must admit that I love being in a new place because I can pull out all my "old jokes" and everyone thinks they're brand new. hehe. I'm amused with how amused everyone up there seems to be with me. It's rather fun.

I am so sleepy that I was afraid that I was going to drift off during the movie. My eyeballs just want to close right up. My back is STILL killing me. It's been so painful since Sunday morning. (Some moments less than others, but mostly awful pain for much of the time.) Nothing's working to get rid of the soreness. And now my arms and head are starting to ache as a result of it. Earlier today even my legs were bothering me. I'm falling apart! If the pain's still around on Friday, I'm going to call the doctor (if he's in, but I think his day off is Friday, so maybe Saturday). I can't take this pain for much longer. It drives me nuts. It wouldn't bother me so much if I could just find one position to sit or stand in that would ease the pain. But there's no position that remedies it. No matter how I sit or curl up or stand, it's still there. Ouchy. Heat, ibuprofen, icy hot stuff, etc. Nothing has worked. I have no clue what else to try. I think it's probably my muscle spasms acting up again. Either that or the osteoarthritis or whatever it was that the last doctor told me I had. That could be it. I usually have some type of soreness in my neck/back, but this is way above and beyond the norm.

Ok, it's time for me to turn in. I need my zzz's. I hope everyone who celebrates it has a wonderful Thanksgiving and those that don't celebrate it, I hope you have a terrific Thursday!

Lite FM 106.7 actually played a Christmas song this morning! eeek! That means it's really coming! It's starting to look like Christmas too! This morning I went to take the dogs out and I hadn't bothered to glance out the window at all, so the moment that I opened the door and saw SNOW, I was so happily surprised! It wasn't just a little tiny bit either, it was a good 2-3 inches already! And still coming down fast and furious! I love it!

I made sure to leave early because of the snow and because I had to hit the post office to send out all those DVDs and that one book. Driving was a little slippery, but not too awfully bad. Most of the schools up near me closed for the day because of the snow, so that made traffic a little easier to deal with. I hit the post office and got to work with no trouble at all. I did take the back roads because I heard way too many accidents on the highways. It did take me a little longer than normal to get here, but that's expected with the weather. I drove a little slower than normal to keep safe.

My back is KILLING me and has been since yesterday morning. It's all the upper part and man does it hurt every single time that I move even an inch. I've tried heat. I've tried ibuprofen. I've tried some of that smelly gooey gunk. None of it has eased the pain one iota. I would have thought about staying home with this pain, but it doesn't help to lay down so I might as well sit up here at work in pain rather than lay in bed in pain where I would constantly be thinking about it and having to deal with the dogs. So here I am. What fun.

Yay, Teri's here. She was out sick last week for a few days. I'm glad she's back. She still doesn't sound well. She better not breathe on me!

I watched those stupid music awards last night... only because NOTHING else worth watching was on. I don't know why I didn't pop in a DVD or something. Those awards sucked. There's no music these days that I enjoy really. Give me all the oldies (by that I mean 80s and 90s - LOL) instead of the icky crap on the radio today. I do have to say that I LOVED the Sugarland/Beyonce song. I can't stand Beyonce normally, but put her with the awesome Sugarland and she's listen-able. :-) I really liked it. They even played it on the radio this morning and talked about it.

La la la... I'm so sleepy.

Ron's boss once again screwed him over. Ron was supposed to have Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday off this week. Since it's a holiday week, he's supposed to get his normal (HAHAHA right) 2 days off and the holiday. So those days were perfect! That would have given us two days together, Thursday & Saturday. Well, Ron went in on Saturday and found out that his boss decided to flip the schedule so now Ron has Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off. I mean it's nice to get 3 days in a row off, but not when EVERYONE ELSE in the building has Thursday PLUS one of the WEEKEND days off and yet Ron gets stuck with ONLY weekdays off and then is CLOSING all the flippin' weekend. It's so unfair. I truly wish he'd just tell them to shove it and walk away. I've been telling him for a couple months now that he should quit. I don't care if we have to scrimp and save for awhile with just me working again, it's worth it if it means we get to spend some time together. And it's worth it if it means he doesn't get walked over constantly at work. Sure, no job is perfect, but there's no reason he should have to put up with the junk they always drop on him when everyone else there gets catered to as if they're kings and queens. Ron needs to step up and put his foot down. Seriously. Grow a backbone, man.
