What a day, what a night.
First I have to comment on our ride home from Atlantic City. The Parkway always has issues, but today there was a major accident. We were waved out of the Express lanes and into the Local ones and we couldn't figure out why. Some cars ignored the motion and kept on going in the Express lanes. Turns out there was a major accident and there were police cars up the wazoo, ambulances and they had even landed a helicopter right on the middle lane. Needless to say the traffic was stopped completely. They weren't allowed to go forward while they were working on the accident. I had to look it up and if you click the link above, you'll see that the driver of the car died. I had a feeling that there'd be a fatality involved. The vehicle was on its side as we drove by. It's scary to think that if we'd left a little earlier from Atlantic City that we could have been near that vehicle when the accident occurred.
The trip to AC was awesome, even though I had NO luck at all. I could not win for losing! My mom and grandma did pretty well and they both kept throwing me money. Can't say that I complained about that at all! In the end I came home with $100 more than I left with! I don't know how that happened because the most I won at any one point was just under $60. My grandma would not let me give her any money back and each time she'd win, she'd hand me the winnings and go off with more of her own money.
It was so much fun. We hit quite a few casinos and even had one of those rickshaw rides back from the one casino. That was fun. I'd never done that before.
For dinner last night we ate at Johnny Rockets. It's a back to the 50's style of burger joint/malt shoppe and they even gave you a nickel to pick a song on the jukebox on the table and for certain songs the waiters and waitresses all started dancing to the music. It was yummy and so much fun. Our waitress was awesome!
We gambled until around 1:30 and then my grandma and I gave up and went to bed. My mom went back down to gamble until 3:30!
My grandma and I got up at 8-ish this morning and got ready. We headed right down to the casino for an hour or so and then went back to our room. My grandma and I shared one room while my mom had the adjoining room to herself. The rooms were rather nice. I took some photos and will have to get around to uploading them one of these days.
We had dessert around midnight last night in Bally's at Animations Coffee Shop. This morning we ate at a little restaurant in Trump Plaza. We had soooooooo much food! I'm still full!
I had such a great time. I laughed sooooooo hard last night that I seriously thought I was going to pee my pants. My grandma had my mom and me hysterical with laughter when we were leaving Johnny Rockets. Heck, most of the night we were cracking each other up. It was a hoot and a half.
Tomorrow I have to be up early again to head to my mom's. Then we're off to my brother's house to celebrate Jenn's and Nicky's birthdays. I did find the DVD for Nicky tonight at Borders but I completely forgot to pick up a birthday card so tomorrow morning I'll have to stop at Shop-Rite on the way to my mom's to get a card.
I really hope we don't get home too late tomorrow night because while I did get some cleaning done tonight, I need tomorrow night to do the last minute prep for the party on Sunday. To be honest, I really don't want to go tomorrow. I feel like I haven't been home at all lately. I'm looking forward to going back to work on Monday just to recover from all the excitement.
Ron has to work tomorrow so he's not going down to my brother's. He's planning to mow in the morning and hopefully get the outside looking a little more presentable. I must say that our house is starting to look respectable. We'd gotten so unorganized in recent months and now we're paying for that lack of attention. With school and work and Ron's crazy hours, we let too much go and now it takes twice as long to straighten things up. Ah well, no one ever said we were the neatest couple in the world. hehe.
I think it is now bed time for me. I'm exhausted and don't look forward to getting up early tomorrow. Why oh why does my bro have to live so gosh darn far away???

Yesterday was a long day full of boring stuff that needs no discussion. Basically Ron and I hit Wal-Mart, Target, and BJ's. Bought necessary stuff for the party and then came home and cleaned our hearts out. Boring.
My sister's neighborhood was evacuated yesterday. I showed you guys the pictures of the smoke, but I guess they also started getting hot ash falling and so the authorities came through suggesting everyone evacuate. It wasn't mandatory, but was highly advised. My sister and her family ended up going to their pastor's house for the night. How scary. My mom was saying that parts of the Parkway were closed and are hopefully re-opened this morning because we need that road to get to Atlantic City. I haven't heard anything else yet about whether the fires are still going or if they've managed to put them out. I'll have to search a little and find out.
Amazon pissed me off. I ordered my nephew's birthday present ages ago and as of today it still has NOT shipped. This dvd is never going to get here by tomorrow. I need it for Saturday morning! I think I'm going to have to hit Borders tomorrow on my way home from AC so that I can pick one up and then I'll just send the other one back to Amazon since they're taking their sweet time in getting it shipped! And yes, I did check the "ship when items become available" button instead of the "ship all at the same time" so there's no reason it should not have shipped by now since it said "usually ships in 2-3 days". Grr. Hopefully Borders will have that DVD. I don't know that it's a very popular one or if it's rare. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
Ok, now I'm off to win lots of money! Haha.
