Smoke and Fire.

mesmerizing
I don't know if anyone's heard about the wild fires going on down in South Jersey... If not, check out THIS ARTICLE. That just gives background for what I'm going to post here.

My sister lives down in Manahawkin (which isn't far, but not real close either to where the fires are going on). However, she sent me some pictures this morning of the smoke that can be seen from her house. It has to be scary to walk outside and see this and not know if it could come your way in an instant.

Sheesh! There have been fires all over the country lately. Minnesota, California, Florida, now Jersey...

Holy cow! I saw the fires last night on The Weather Channel but I was pretty sure they weren't near you, had no idea your sister was near them though. That would be utterly terrifying. Here's hoping the rain that passed through here puts the fires out for her!

I think "holy cow" sums it up nicely!
Yeah they aren't near me at all, I'm up in the boonies up top of NJ and nothing ever happens here except bear sitings. haha.

HOpefully the fires will all be put out today with the storms that rolled through just a bit ago. I hope they never get too close to her, but even seeing the smoke itself is scary enough.

flashbacks to living in Australia. We'd get the smoke like that over our house because we had a huge national park just 2 blocks away. It's scary stuff, I thought of you when I heard that on the news today too.. had no idea where they were. I hope they are all out now!

Oh wow, really? That can't be fun seeing the smoke like that and knowing that the park is so close.
I'm not sure if they're out yet, but my sister's family did end up evacuating for the night. We had major rain come through so I'm hoping that helped put them out.
